Hi All,
WELL.!! Am I ever glad that I took my camera along with me, as you will see I hit another cannoball jack pot.
I actually dug SIX 18 lbdr's out of a 24" area that happened to be under water.
I will never know how I missed these before or how someone else didn't find them, there was obviously cannon at this location as these haven't been fired probably left in haste and never recovered, search around for buttons and other relics but didn't find a one.
It took over an hour to untangle these from the roots of the small tree you see in the pics, didn't want to hurt the tree so had to undermine it water was freezing up to my elbows.
I always like to find cannoballs particulary when there are multiples.
Other stuff were two badges that were not identified till I got them home they are Boy Scout badges and again I do not have this variety so another bonus some modern coins one silver and a .303 live round and a couple of musket balls.
The two bottles were found because there was a shotgun catridge present nothing to do with the bottles.............HH...Johnnn.
Cant put all the pics onto page over 1000 kb.

Great finds, John.   Six cannon balls at one spot is a find of a lifetime.   Hope you were not too far from the truck when it was time to lug those babies out of there.

Hot Dang! 6 Cannon Balls on one hunt! Makes me want to run across that old Canadian border and do some hunting some day...Dang good metal detecting up in Canada it looks like-Ha! Great  where'd you get that shovel??? I LIKE T-HANDLE ON IT...I use a sharpshooter with part of blade cut off then I resharpen end and sharpen one side of blade to hack roots with...works really well. What detector was you using to find the cannon balls? Looks like a Tesoro search coil on it???

Hi Treasuremomo,
You wont believe the amount of times I have been and still visit this site and continue to find a great variation of stuff 2002 we found around 10/11 cannonballs of different calibres and now in2010, I find 6 in one spot that I have missed by a "swing of the detector" "life is good" .
The detctor is a Tesoro vaqero and I swear by it although these balls would have been found with the most basic machine "that was a lot of iron in one hole"..........The shovels are Titainium I made 4 of them when I had my own shop they are extreemly light and tough.........HH....Johnnn
