Go Up Go Down

I found this artifact in a wooded area in Europe about six inches in the soil. The under side of the piece suggests to me it attached to something.  I don't know what it is, maybe a decorative attachment on something.  I looked in several books and it seems the decorative swirls are classic Celtic found on many objects from that time.  I think it is very old.  Maybe Christian knows more about this.

Dave, I would also strogly vote for a Celtic piece here! Celtic finds are so rare in Europe they are really thought after!

An excellent find for sure. Can you please also show as a picture of its bottom? Thank you!

Regards,

Christian

The bottom view and a side view are below.  It's hard to see the concave appearance of the inside from the scans.
