Nice!!! I've never found a whole cannon ball, just a big piece of one.  At another site I found a Confederate Ordnance fuse.

Hi Todd,
Its quite a thrill to find a ball, if you get one be sure to check the area thoroughly after all it was shot at someone/thing the surrounding areas usually have other relics too.......HH........Johnnn
Hi Festung,
Do you think "Electrolosis" will actually clean iron balls?

I think... I'm sure!!
Remove big piece of rust with hammer, and electrolysis will do the rest !!

They are mostly free of the large rust that was clinging to them I was just wondering if electrolosis would improve them I can try it..Johnnn

Forgot to mention Johnnn...let me know if you would like some help cleaning and preserving those. It's important to get on that rust right away or it will slowly fall apart. You will notice pieces falling off every year. Obviously with more fragile or smaller iron relics they rot away much more quickly. I do electrolysis on mine and then preserve them with a special wax/stain which prevents it from rusting further, and also gives it the old look again rather than the new gray metal look. Anyhow, the offer is there, just let me know.

Here are a few of my pieces I have done myself.
