This is one of my favourite buttons. I wish I had more like this. I'm unfortunately no expert but would think that it dates from around 1800. It has very nice and detailed work and remains in excellent condition. It was found in a field some years ago using a Toltec II.

I am not an expert on French buttons of this period but it appears to be a Button of the French Imperial Guard 1804-1814.

First of all welcome aboard! Oh! That is excellent news! Infact I had found this button on the same ground where I had also hit the Napoleonic belt buckle. Thank you very much for this very usefull information! I should  do another detecting at this field. Maybe there is more to be found! Thank you!
