My relic hunting friend that went with me found an Italian Carcano bullet at the same location.  Hope to go back to the spot soon to see if we can find any more North Carolina items.  Will keep you posted.

I could not help but go back to the first minnie my sons and I found in virginia (chancelersville) some 30 years ago or more. It too was a two ring
gardner, we did not know that at the time but it was so exciting to us. Now
we have aver 5000 minnies and around 250,000 (correct figure) items from the civil war and rev war and early americana. Check out the picture under my name and that is not all of it. Its amazing how fast it collects even though you only get a few items at a time. Nice find and good luck in the future.......................................................DONDIGGER
