If you don't want to wear a digging pouch on your belt, try wearing a fishing/hunting vest. I've got a lighter one for summer hunts and a heavier one for the winter. I like these vests, because they have a lot of pockets where you can store batteries, snacks, a small bag for those delicate relics, etc.

Plus, you can distribute the weight more evenly and won't have to stop every 20 yards or so and pull up your pants with that old rusty iron weighing you down.

You can find one at the Army surplus or on eBay cheap.

Very good ideas! I often wear a old pair of fatigues into the field when hunting like that. The extra pockets prove to be very handy.

I have thought about buying fatigues to but still havent had the chance to get a pair i bet they are comfortable when your out

511 is also the name of a company that sells outdoor clothes and they had a sale of camo pants for $10.00 a pair.
