Actually found this Claddagh ring without the help of a metal detector. I was taking a break after climbing to the ridge of a sand dune and happened to look down. Originally thought it was an old can pull-tab. After flicking it with my toe, realized it was a ring. It's in good shape. I believe it is Sterling Silver (The only marking is "Made in Ireland"). It's a fairly large fit, too, as I can fit it on my thumb without a problem.

Thanks. That was my thought as well. Whether I'm using a metal detector, randomly sifting sand or just stumble across it; a treasure find is a treasure find.   Cool

claddagh or so called Irish wedding band,populaire souvenir for American tourists,Ireland is full or shops which sell this sort of jewellery,its sterling silver 925,if you where the heart pointing out wards,it means your taken,where it inwards(the crown pointing out) then you are single
just a bit of useless info....still nice find.
