Didn't some salvage company have a lock on the plate fleet when it came to diving for the coins, relics and artifacts? seems to me we had some discussions about having to be 6 feet above the waterline for most of the coastline near the fleet salvage area.

Florida law states the beach between the  Tide marks is Public property . Did they change that?     Fishers sold all their holding to some outfit I don't know who but they Sublease the sites the same as the Fishers did as best I understand it.

No matter, Homefire. The discussion was about the plate fleet and restricted use of metal detectors. Factual or not. Supported or not, the discussion happened here about a year ago. I remember it well because it meant you couldn't search for lost jewelry because you might accidentally find a gold coin from the plate fleet. Utter nonsense in my book.

Showing my Age, back in the 80's people was finding all kinds of goodies on the beach.  All was good with the finds.    After a Good storm, I'd love to be out there again because you know it's there.  A six foot cut beach is Gravy for sure..   I lived in Satellite Beach at Patrick AFB and every chance I had I was out there.   Working 3/12hour days, 3/12hour mids, and 3/12hour nights Nine Day Runs kind of put a damper on my scamper.   All I had was a day and a half off in two weeks and sure wanted some Sleepy Time.

Ge I wonder why my first wife took the long walk?

AuFever, there were some people that live near that beach that said they were swimming right over the spot where the gold was found!

Homefire, Brent Bisben bought the  rights to the 1715 fleet (off the E coast of FL) from Taffy Fisher.
