Cornelius, I am curious why you believe the Almiranta may not have been salvaged if you wouldn't mind sharing your info? Almiranta was such a common moniker it appears perhaps there could be a mixup?

The Spanish did not want anybody to know that the Almiranta was NOT salvaged .  There was too much money on her .  There is more than likely a mix-up  ( For the above mentioned reason ) .  Cornelius

I suspected that might be the case. The heaviest ships were the ones that made it closest to the shore? Huh? hmmm

That would mean the real Almiranta would be in deeper water? So being rear eschelon it could be quite some distance from the other wrecks depending on which way the wind was moving when it hit. Interesting.
