Appeals court rules for Spain in shipwreck case
By MITCH STACY , 09.22.11, 08:46 AM EDT

TAMPA, Fla. -- U.S. deep-sea explorers must turn over to the Spanish government 17 tons of silver coins and other treasure recovered from a sunken Spanish galleon in 2007, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.

Here is the link to the whole story.

They are still trying to fight it off though.  The order to hand over the recovery has been stayed temporarily at least the way it sounds.

I agree with Homie,

Not to mention Admiralty Law should rule in this case, as well as the Abandonment rules. But since its not within our coastal limits of the shores of the USA, it appears that almost anyone can go to court to try to take a rightful find away from the Savager, which in my opinion stinks.

Cheers,
Jim

People, we all know how crooked the US GOVERNMENT/ JUDICIAL SYSTEM is in this country, yet you keep trying to do things the honest way; STOP!^#@&^&#$How ignorant can you still be? We can't win! We never will; just become a pirate. What ever you find; keep it secreat, keep it for yourself!
This government no longer can afford to spend the money on preventing us from pursuing our love/interest. We can beat them at their own game.It is time we all form a conventio on polishing up on,"The skills of being a pirate" You find it, it's yours.
Please, don't be niave in beliving you will ever be able to keep what you discover. The only people in the treasure business that find and keep treasure is the lawyers that suck your treasure,( your Money ),from your pockets!!! It's really easier than you think, being a pirate, and an incrediblly satisfying feeling breaking the illegal laws passed against us, and f------ the government.America is broke, they can't afford the resourses to watch you, keep tabs on you; IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THEM TO DO IT! Take advantage of the situation....Screw the man Police Police Police Police....HaHa....Capt. Tom

Good advice Tom. I know of several salvage operations going on in Florida right now without permits. The state has not issued a excavation permit in 20 years and never will. They want to shut down treasure hunting permanently but the plan has backfired. It only drove the treasure hunters underground.

Hey Salvor6 & Tom have it right in my opinion!  Wink

These cronies have other agenda no doubt in the Spain case here, and I'm sure some backroom deals and arm twisting has taken place as well as illegal communications with the court officials and the axemen Conquistadors upper governments officials...Smells fishy as usual.

Sgt. Schultz the treasure Hunter Pirate answers the FL State officials questions after he finds a mother load of Colombian uncut Tube Emeralds on the beach. They ask him if he found any treasure on the beach or in the surf?... he tells himself to keep quite and answers & says:     I know nothing!  Grin

LOL, tell them nothing!

Cheers,  Great
Jim
