Some of you may have heard about the story of the Arabia Steamboat. Sunk in 1856- rediscovered over a century later in a Kansas cornfield and excavated. All discoveries are now exhibited in the museum.

Just never know what you're going to find in a cornfield in KS. <smile> I've never been to the museum, but people tell me that it's quite interesting. Sue

I have been to the museum and it is a must see for those interested in the artifacts of early frontier America.  Even the beaver hats are in supurb condition after being buried in the mud and water for many years.

The exhibition has given people a much better understanding how they lived in that period of time through the goods that were excavated from the wreckage - and their were thousands of them.

I've never went to a museum either, like to go.  This is an interesting article.
