LOL! There lucky to get what they are .

The ship was a War Ship and Abandoned.

No one else was going to put out the funds for the recovery.

"In return for excavating the vessel's historic remains, which may include gold and silver worth many millions of pounds, Odyssey Marine Exploration is entitled to receive "a percentage of the recovered artefacts' fair value" or "artefacts in lieu of cash".

Why leave the artifacts and treasure on the bottom where no-one has access except the well funded marine archeologists . seems there is an agenda against Odyssey Marine who do all the hard work on their time and expence , and when the rewards are at their finger tips the Govt beaurocrats interfere in the name of archeology . if there was no treasure would they be so vocal . cheers Mick

LOL! like the Spanish, they just wait until some one else does the work and Rob it.

In this case the MOD Ministry Of Defence who Was Appointed after the Royal Navy is going to share.

Under UK law I believe you get half fare market Value on most Treasure and the Crown or Land Owner gets the Rest.

I use to hate that set up but it looks pretty good compaired to what you get if found on federal lands these days.
