The main anchor from Blackbeard's pirate ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, is being raised today from it's centuries old resting place less than 30 feet below the surface of the water off the coast of North Carolina!  After withstanding nearly 300 years of tides and storms at sea, the anchor has become unstable and will be salvaged in order to preserve and display this fabulous piece of history from the Golden Age of Piracy!  Fight

I love it when these kinds of things are made available for public viewing.  The chances of me ever being able to go diving to see the actual wreck site are slim!  I'm looking forward to seeing the anchor and other artifacts all cleaned up... Smiley
