I went to his museum in key West and thought it was pretty lame. They charge ya to get in and then most of the stuff you see are just replicas.

Knight; When Mel was alive I went to his place at Key West it was booming then back some years ago. was 5 bucks to get in then but had all the real stuff their as met Mel and his crew and talked to them At that time he had a 10lb gold bar in the middle of the room in a plastic box where you could put your hand in it and pick up the gold bar, darn what a feeling, and all that silver bars laying around. Guess the museum at Vero Beach is still open? Met his kids way back when.  rwdmo

I visited the Mel Fisher museum 2010 the gold bar was there then in its Perspex box. Must have been just after that when it was stolen. If they find it. It will have a few sets of prints on it mine included. There are a lot of replicas there as sujested but they do have some great gold and silver objects. I went into his shop on Duval street and the guy in charge closed the door and let me hold a gold doubloon priced tagged $42000.

The gold bar was never recovered. The guys that stole it (they were recorded on video) have never been identified. Its probably melted down.
