It's about that particular file not being there for some reason. Perhaps an aborted upload.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi GD & Homefire,

I guess there was an issue with file size and or megapixel size of an attached pic to the article, but Ridge Runner took care of sizing it I think & can be found on page 5 of this thread:

I finally got it down to a size that fits, it works now. Here is a picture that went along with the article.

you were scooping them up like candy!

Nice photo go along with that article, and well done in the day. I see a few of your current detectors, but was wondering what machine you used mostly to hunt the beaches and find most of your good beach finds with years ago, at the time that your photo & article came out?

Thanks,  Great
Jim

Wow that is a kinda hard one. Let me go back to the beginning and try to remember. I started out in late 1964 with a D-Tex Professional which you constantly had to retune due to drift, but it did work at the time when i used it mostly in the desert. Then I bought the Garrett BFO top model a year later, a lot better on controling the drift and it was what I used in my earliest water hunting about 1968. I then bought a heavy old Garrett Master Hunter VLF with the  orange donut type coil, that was a excellent detector in its day for finding rings, but I don't remember which one I bought first, the Fisher 1260 or the Garrett Master Hunter, but I think is was the Garrett. I had also used a couple Compass detectors in the 1970's and 80's.
