I read one time in the Lost Treasure mag. that a vessell was destroyed in the Broad River in Pinckneyville SC(Union County) back in the Civil War.They said the name was CSA Arrow,so I looked on a civil war website, looked on a page where the names of the vessells were at,and couldn't find any name close to that.Does anyone know anything about this or maybe what the name of the ship was?

Good luck...I'm on the same search myself...finding myself here...have you ever been there? I've been twice...I'm unsure if the CSA Arrow really existed...I'm currently cross refrencing the sources for this article. I was emailed a copy by the author, I bought a copy of the article from Lost Treasure magazine, but never rec'd it...either by email or snail mail....

It appears that according to the other forum that I found it in it was the April 2008 issue of Lost Treasure magazine. Mr. Atwell sent me a "copy" which was paraphrasing his notes on the article due to copyright laws. I thought that since he was the author of the article he would be able to send me the pics as well that he had included. I appreciate your help, thank you so much! I used pay pal to deduct the cost of the article and I have contacted both parties, paypal and Lost Treasure and for $2.95, figured it wasn't worth the headache, lol.

Here is the only note I have in my files about the Arrow if that is what you are interested in. If we had more info on what you are researching might be able to add more. This info has ties to the KGC so must be taken with a grain of salt.
Jefferson Davis also had other options with blockade runners standing by and smaller boats along rivers and inlets all up and down the coast of Georgia and Florida. He planned on using that route if necessary should the route overland become impossible. The CSA Arrow was waiting at Pinckneyville, SC on the Broad River in South Carolina but it got there three days after President Davis had already passed by there. On these boats and ships President Davis hoped to get to Texas or Nassau or to Liverpool England. He had no initial intention of going to Mexico. However he did later after leaving Washington, Georgia send out his lady top CIA Agent, Janie Adams to Mexico and she disappeared in Mexico, the Pinkerton's could find no trace of her after years of searching. She was from Raliegh, North Carolina. Her and her father worked as CSA Spies sometimes acting as USA Spies. Sorry, I talk to much. But anyway Rebel that was Jefferson Davis' intentions of fleeing south. When he left Richmond, he planned to get General Lee, Beaugard and Johnston to join forces, whip Yankee General Sherman; turn North and defeat General Grant from the Defenses he had been placing in Danville for three years.

Hey Kitty.I do have the issue if you still need a copy of it.I haven't been to the Broad yet,but plan on it as soon as I get a little time.I moved from Union about 11yrs ago and go back to family all the time, but seems that I'm always in a rush to get back.I've got a pretty good idea as to where it could've happened,if in fact it did,but we'll see when I get there with a boat and "meter".Do you know any owners' along side of there that would be willing to let somebody(me) metal detect? That would be an awesome start
