I am total nubie and trying to find leads to help develop some skills in treasure and gold finding. I was told by a patient that has years of experience that there is a real sparcity of information about coastal wreaks in my area. Any help out there about this area of inquiry? BTW, I have just perchased a white's GFX. thanks

Brother i think you need to read this book called treasure hunting with metal detector by Gerry edwards. Great book that gives you a lot of great info on this matter. Listen to the genuis himself ( the author has spent his life metal detecting and has claimed a lot of tresure himself )

Shipwrecks can be lucrative but they are a highly specialized target for treasure hunters. They don't often spill their treasure on the shoreline.

Sometimes, though, survivors make it ashore with their personal treasures. It's not often that they bury them, though. Most often they use it to start their new life after surviving a shipwreck.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hello Doc Z

If I was living in SF, I would be checking out the building sites in the city. because much of San Francisco was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake many treasure lay under the foundations of the old city.

It may be of interest to check out my post about buried treasure in SF in Legendary treasures.

Hello Doc Z

Being land base perhaps you will find some thing of interest in legendary treasures Forum. A story about buried treasure in San Fransisco.
