"Red tape has kept Charlie Shapiro, treasure hunter, away from the 224-year-old wreck of the Brederode, which is laden with crated-up porcelain, tin and gold from Indonesia and China."

This has to be frustrating as he sometimes spots others at the location of the wreck.

Its a crying shame that the bureaucrats would make him wait for a permit while looters are stripping the wreck. By the time he does get his permit there will be nothing left.

Hello Salvor6

This is one of reasons why some do not bother with trying to deal with authorities any more.

Hi every one

I'm a commercial diver and I have dived on a few South African wrecks never found any thing but had I did I most definitely would not have told any one. I did have the pleasure of meeting some one that did find some gold coins but he never said how many nor where Smiley lucky guy . I had my fun when I was diving for diamonds off the west coast  :Smiley

Regards
Xavier
