I attended --it was interesting -- but I did not care for the part where they praised the state of florida for not "issuing", any "actual salvage" permits for about the last 20 years
-- and their expanding their area of control to include land and inland water areas where old colonial plantions and such were at via their ideal of a "hertiage zone"--has me a bit worried given their clear bias against "treasure hunter / metal detectorrist types" -- the new "hertiage zone" they seek to enact would put a lot more area under their "control" to say --off limits --no go -- they cover this "power grab / land control" move by saying they can get more funding for historical projects that way -- for known historic spots --preserving real historical spots is one thing , but to just totally shut off access for recreational metal detectorist to large amounts of land --by going the whole area is "historic zone" is BS --
