Hello,

the Sportscan is unfortunately very limite don both cable length and image quality. I can not recommend it. If you are on budget, I would recommend buying a Burto m1 High Resolution System instead. Its draw back is that it only has one channel but the image qualiyt and ease of use are excellent and you get a complete system at under 3kg.

Regards,

Christian

A close friend has the Burton and it has issues. They have one he made about 4 years ago and it defanitly looks like something built in the garage on the weekend. They have used it a few times and I believe its now gathering dust in his garage.

I will ask, 2 friends bought it together and now there not friends over a money dispute. I'm friends with both guys and will ask what there plans are with it. I know he hasn't been used it in 2 years because I do alot of diving with him and we share knolledge of our slim pickins we have here. I do know they bought it used off Ebay so you would be a 3rd owner atleast.

Imagenex redfin side scan

I have two imagenex side scan sonars. I use one on my dive boat and a second on my houseboat. They are easy to use and I like the ability to measure objects below without actually having to dive on them. I might consider selling one for a reasonable price. I paid 7k with the case . I will take less
