The problem is that your browser needs to support the Google Earth Plugin. When I had re-installed my computer, it didn't work for me either with the pre-installed old Microsoft Internet Explorer. After I had upgraded to my Mozialla Fire Fox again it worked fine.

I added my location yesterday and it worked fine. I am using the location to mark my current area of interest. Right now it points to the Calli-Nevada desert where reports of diamonds and rubies were picked up from the desert floor.
