I think I may have found my first silver signal today at the park, 97-98 at 7 inches.

Sounds about right.

Im pretty sure the park has been hit previously, as I said most are at 2 inches or less. I also washed them and rubbed a little oil to give some contrast for the picture. I spent 20 minutes digging my mystery signal that I thought could possibly be silver, ended up being a heavily rusted staple all wadded up 8" down in the rock hard dirt. Sad Ended up with a single nickel and some canslaw in my remaining few minutes.

I once read that a $5 gold piece sounds like 3 nickles taped together,  just sayin.

The only 5$ piece I found in the ground was with a Garrett Ground Hog at a old home site and it sounded like a bottle cap. If I had been on the beach I might not have dug it one more reason to dig it all.
Digging nickles is a good thing rings are not faw behind keep it up.

Caleb, that sounds like one hell of a good staple find  Grin  Is canslaw a term for garbage?  Never heard it before, so kinda curious.

Seldom beat me to it, very sharp nasty pieces of aluminum can, more often than not giving a nice tone.
