Go Up Go Down

The day before the arrest of the Templars, on the evening of October 12, 1307, a procession consisting of three carriages covered with straw and fifty horses left the Temple of Paris, led by two Templar ...

Having speculated on the relevance of the presence of the fabulous treasure of the Templars in Lorraine and after following the clues found by a dowser Lorraine, this time we headed for the former Principality of Salm and Abbey Salival. The adventure continues ...

Knowing that the distance between Paris and Salival is about 380 km and the average distance traveled daily by a horse is about 20 to 30 km if it pulls a cart, we can therefore hypothesize that the Grand Master Agenda Temple or his heirs had entrusted his treasure in 1307 to a representative of the Salm family, independent of the king of France and belonging to the Temple, in order to reach safety.

Indeed, if two horses were harnessed to each of the three trucks, three trucks are only six horses have gone from 20 to 30 km per day. Suppose we change the two horses pulling each wagon with a daily turnover of eight days, knowing that it takes at least 20 days to cover 380 km at such a pace, it would have been 48 horses to the distance Paris-Salival. If we add the two horses Templars, we arrive at the fifty horses have left the Paris Temple.

Do not forget also that the Templars could no longer rely on their command posts located in France to change their horses as they were to be watched by people of the king of France since their arrest. Therefore, they should ensure the renewal of their fresh horses. They n'emmen?rent no food for their horses, since they had to graze in meadows and clearings in the journey, much of which was effected in the forest.

The Templars were accustomed to in procession troupe in Paris. Their procession was therefore not attract the attention of people that day. Similarly, the procession could not be overtaken by the troops of the king of France because he was ahead and it took days to transmit a search in the kingdom.

The procession was probably borrowed from the historic road linking Paris to Reims path used by the kings of France to attend the coronation ceremony, before joining the Roman road from Reims to Metz by way Tarquimpol towards Strasbourg.
Archaeologists believe that there is a branch of the Roman road leading directly to the site Salival, which is rare, because the Roman roads generally does not branch. This demonstrates that the site had Salival great importance in Roman times.
Vic on the Templars Seille withdrew in 1264 at the Commandery Gelucourt, after selling all their possessions to the Bishop of Metz. They very well could then integrate into the monastery Salival after the dissolution of their order. Indeed, after the promulgation of the papal bull stating the dissolution of the Templars, the Templars were still meeting their monastic vows. They could not return to civilian life.

The royal family of Salm, who is behind the founding of the Abbey Salival, worked very well could hide their treasure in this abbey, which enjoyed the protection of Chateau-bound, the fortress was built in thirteenth century by order of the bishop of Metz. It was necessary to choose a powerful religious place unrelated to the Templars and very well kept to hide the treasure.

The latter could then still be based in the subterranean chapel dedicated to Saint Fiacre, or in the subway leading to Chateau-bound, or even the location of the canons used as a cemetery under the bones since local legend says that a statue Our Lady of gold was found there, or even in a cache hidden under the paving stones of the two bodies of water located behind the home of monks ...
Indeed, there is a strong likelihood that there was a passage of Templar abbey. An underground chapel does exist and the site plan refers to entries underground contacting Vic-sur-Seille, Chateau-Dedicated and other villages.

Finally, it is said that the Templars would have taken the road to England or America. But no document reports that the contents of the three trucks have been transported by boat. It could therefore be a false trail as know how to propagate the military when it comes to conceal the true destination ...

Good reading

Luc

Salut Luc,

I just joined this forum and am very interested in Topics about Templars Hospitalliters, ect.
Your thread is very interesting and makes sense, since I am also supporting the theorie, that the Templars could not have been undetected for such a long time in France during their escape, carrying along whatever they did.
I also think that " BLENDING IN ! " was more a tactical way to hide themselves and their possession.
The calculation of travelling days you have mentioned makes it clear that it would have been almost impossible to remain undetected all that time, since I am sure that King Phillip was after every one of them, even outside of France.
Very interesting thread.

Hi Mick,

yes it will be very hard to trace. Still fascinating, theory or not. Logistically speaking a big enterprise to pack and run.
Interesting is the fact that Luc says it all happened one day before the templars got arrested on friday the 13th 1307.
I thought they got arrested by surprise. Did Jaques Molay suspected something when he got called from Cyprus? Did he had
time to arrange the evacuation of the material after his arrival in Paris?
What if the used the Seine River and went South? What if the Stuff is still in Paris? maybe there even no Treasure at all.
At the other hand the King ( Phillip the v ) was broke and he needed funds to pay all his depths.
Pope Clemens was first against the arrest but then got persuaded by the king to follow his corrupted and criminal road.

Would be great to read more opinions. Looking forward to.

Fredrex Amen

I have little doubt that Jaques Molay had advance notice of the coming arrest I have heard more then once that the Templar's had spies high up in the France court.

The treasure its self who knows lots of legends very little proven facts

Hi Seldom.

Was just a theory.I am sure that the templars had their secret service.  I dont think that prove will be found either. At least not easily. But who knows.
Greetings to the States

Well Fred the question is not if the Templar had treasure the question is what was the treasure how big was the treasure and of course what became of it. Lets start out with here and see where it leads.

The Treasure
We know the Templar were wealthy but just how wealthy?  Wealth back then was more then silver are gold it was also property slaves horse livestock etc. So legend can mean they had wealth just not wagons full of gold and silver. So in my opinion any treasure left to be found maybe a lot smaller then most think.

Where is it?
Its not on Oak Island like many want us to believe doubt if is in the new world like others believe. I doubt if it ever left France and if it did its on the bottom of the sea somewhere.

This is going to get good where is my crew vacations over back to work guys.

We also know that the Templars functioned as "bankers" and introduced, or at least utilized and made widely acceptable, a system where funds were deposited at one Templar facility, say in London and the depositor would be given a letter (certificate of deposit) which he could then take with him to another Templar location, say in Portugal and exchange for a like amount of gold/silver.   It was also possible under the Templar system for a person to deposit funds at a Templar facility and then send another person a letter (check) by messenger that would allow the addressee to withdraw a stated amount of money from a Templar facility with the amount "debited" against the original depositor's account with the Templars.   This would have necessitated a rather substantial amount (at least for the time) of ready cash to be on hand at multiple Templar locations---whether the funds actually belonged to the Templars or not.....they would still have been considered Templar wealth---especially by someone like King Phillip IV who not only had borrowed heavily from the Templars, but wanted their wealth (monetary and all the other forms that Seldom mentioned).

Because we were all waiting for the forum to get back on an even keel so we could carry on a conversation without interruption......hard to think straight when you have to try 4 or 5 times to get your message out.

Now that it is back up, people might start responding.
