Hello all

A beautiful exhibition about the Templars must-see for those interested in the subject and are passing through Paris

March 2 to May 16, 2011, National Archives- Hotel Soubise , 60 rue des Francs-Bourgeois 75003 Paris.

Picture: National Archives.

Unusual, such as to change perceptions about the Knights Templar and also beautifully illustrated, here is how to summarize the new exhibition opened at the Hotel Soubise National Archives in Paris. The story of the fall of the Templars, the myth of the trial, we know better since it has been purged of all its literature and beliefs (the famous treasure that many continue to seek, for example). Here it is presented here in its naked truth, the outstanding documents from the Treasury of the charters of the kings of France.

All the characters are there, described by the pen's special adviser "religion" of King William of Nogaret: the Grand Master of the Temple, Jacques de Molay, who finished with Geoffroy de Charnay his right arm into the flames of the bonfire on order of King Philip IV the Fair. Secondary characters like these two knights, Hugh of La Celle and William Marcilly, police torturers followers of the "matter" to admit the heretics. And even those convicted of witchcraft, like Bishop Guichard of Troyes, which escaped the flames or the Beguine Marguerite Porete who did not escape ...

The exhibition will be a boon for all history buffs who want to revise their classic case of the Templars (and even younger in school, because it very accessible). The roller interrogation of the Templars imprisoned in Paris in 1307 is 22 meters. Genealogists will be a duty to check if in the 800 names of members of the Order, Knights, easy keepers, servants, stable boys and other people worried, is not a branch of their tree to smell a bit Calcined ...

Also on the Internet, two slideshows unpublished one on the documents of the fourteenth century ( link:

 Hello Luc

I find the Templar's interesting, haven't checked the links as yet but thanks anyways.
So much secrecy and power from back in time. Who really knows what treasures they could have
known of and had to protect  Cool

Hello GoldNboy

It's a good question? I'm going to see this exhibit Saturday, I think I can enrich my knowledge on this subject.

Regards

Luc
