I finally got the hang of ground balance with my new Tesoro Tejon. Incredible depth and sensitivity. Went out with a group prospecting this weekend and got to run a head to head test with the Tesoro Lobo Super Trak. The Tejon beat the LST quite easily in the alternative detection mode. The reason I bought the Tejon is it has the same frequency as the TSL. Also there was an Aussie who had a Tejon and was beating out his buddies with their Minelabs which was a good testimony for me.

The Tejon is a great machine! Always depth beyond most other detectors. I have units costing three times a Tejon that i would say gives not any more depth and simplicity. I just love it.

Good info guys, I have been turned off by a lot of detectors or suppliers lately. We need solid machines, that work. I can remember when we didn't have Kellyco or the internet. Does anyone remember the prices back then? Or how many choices you had? I didn't even take up the hobby till 20 years later. I honestly wouldn't mind owning either of those machines.

I'm still not sold on either machine, but I will keep an eye out for similar post. I found a Fisher catch my eye for coins, and a Whites for prospecting. Cost is not important as long as it does what it is supposed to.

I really liked the first Tesero I seen, came very close to buying it. I didn't need VDI or discrimination. But my choices have changed due to my area and what I want to do, now I know there is no one machine that does it all.

Keep up the post, and what you like about them. I only reply to certain post, and Tesero is one of them. Thanks.

I understand the Tejon can detect down to 20". Any owner tell me how big the artifact has to be at that depth for the tejon to detect it?

For example, last Sunday I'd dug out a big brass/steel hinged lock from the depth 72cm (about 29").
