Glad to meet you too.
There are folks into MD around,
haven't been to any meetings yet, but Keith
who owns the MD shop in Gilmer tells me that
the club down in Henderson is the one to go to.
He's got a really nice shop, if you get a chance to
swing by, it's worth the trip. He's got a really fine
collection, and most anything you'd want as far as
MD's and equipment...

Thanks, and no problem, always glad to meet another local hunter as well!
im actually a slightly starving homebuilder, but thank God, things are changing for us(my absence from this site is a bad side affect!)

we are doing the interior finish out on a log home that Satterwhite put out there, which is the first of 3 really good jobs for us this year, the other 2 are pulling through quickly, one of which will have me making a trek down to cedar creek lake, and the other is local.

Its really a pretty area, ive seen lots of places i would love to get out and do some snooping around on too, kinda hard for my truck to stay on the road when i see an old abandoned home sitting on the side of the road!
maybe one of these days i will get to do some searching on the history of the area, hard to find time with being pulled every which way for work, but again, Thank God for that!

i just got started reading a new old book on Texas history, but have not found much as of yet specific to the area of much interest, will hope to find some time to at least get a general run down off the web, or at the very least the 'Handbook of Texas'

so whats your mo?  park pounder, or more of a researcher?
as i have said on here before, im more into the history, researching stories, and the elusive 'big find'

Foolsgold, I'm glad to hear that work is picking up for you. Seems like lots of folks these days are still looking for something steady.
I'm a history buff myself though I'm pretty new to all of this hunting stuff so I'm still sticking pretty close to home. I'm working an old homesite next door, an old bottle dump I can walk to, and I started working my garden area with my MD as I've turned up a lot of stuff over the last 2 years with my tiller like part of an old pistol, horse shoes, buckles from horse tack, etc. The only coin I've found thus far is a 1949 wheatie but I've still got a lot of ground to cover and I really haven't dug any iron targets yet. CC
