Just curious if there is a standard percentage to offer to a property owner if you find, or think you will find items of significant value on their property.  Any suggestions?

Good question Eck but hard to answer. Are you talking about a cache are a few coins in your neighbors yard.
Is a good idea to head over to the new members area and introduce your self so we know who we talking to.

If it's a house hunt and just finds, I give them first choice.  Gold rings and silver coins end in a coin toss.

A coin cash or better would be 50/50 at least.  No Pissing match, just business.

In this particular case, I'm talking about a vacant house that is scheduled to be razed, but contains ALL of the original architectural elements and hardware, in pristine condition. Total value of what I could pull out is in the neighborhood of $3000. Usually, these places are owned by the city, and they don't care what is taken out, because it's all slated for the landfill.

In this case, however, the city has condemned the property, but not taken ownership, and because it will take me several days to remove everything, combined with the value, I feel as though I should offer the owners a percentage of whatever I earn.  Would love feedback!

How about at the end of the hunt. One pull tab for you, one coin for me, one pull tab for you, one gold ring for me, one pull tab for you, one silver necklace for me, etc. You get the idea. Oh, I'm just kidding  :Smiley
What agreement you can come to prior to the hunt is what ever will work as long as everybody is happy.  Wink
