Good luck. Getting colder here in CT. Sounds like a nice spot to hunt.

When I was a kid, I lived in Up State NY for a year.

Man, Oh Man, it can get Ugly cold up there.

Remember getting snowed in for 3 weeks one time.

Sounds like a great place to hunt.   (Definitely the kind I'm always looking for when I'm at the library).

thanks for the reply i was actually researching something else when i came across this spot it was only mentioned briefly in a local town history page could not find it in news paper articles but did finally find a historical map from the 1880s that showed only the horse track on it with further research found the original owner which the property had no house on it then through my topo.com got a satellite view of the area visited the town clerk got the owners name contacted them and got permission and even was told good luck hope you find something im not really a people person but expected to be told no the owner even called the people across the street from the property while i was there to tell them i had permission to be there boy it was like a fantasy there are a few older houses in my town that the town took for back taxes went to city hall to try to get permission to hunt the lawns and was told to stay out some have been empty for 8 years or better so i was skeptical but now i have a smile ear to ear im really eager the old town judge is in his 90s and he remembers the fair and told me they even had rooster fights there well bye for now and may all your finds be silver and gold  Grin
