Nice honey hole you found! Congrads! I do love to find nickels. So far I have only found Jeffersons as old as 1939. I do collect Jeffersons and have all of them from 1938 thru 2010 in at least brilliant uncirculated state and all the proof ones. My nickel finds I clean and keep them all. All the pennies up to 1982 were made of copper and I also keep them for their higher melting value. The wheat pennies I always look for key dates for one of these days I know I could come across with a really valuable one, even in circulated condition. So far I have found some good ones, but I can't resist feeling excited for finding wheaties regardless of their actual value. They are so rare in circulation and so they are so much fun to find. This week, I found four of them in a park in just a small area. It is still cold in Chicago, but will hit those parks and woods for more as soon as weather gets better.
