Yup, which is why I found the silvers but no gold. Our $1 and $2 coins ring up in the mid to high 70's on the AT Pro and for decimals they are really the only ones worth hunting for. 10c show up in the 80's but 20c & 50c have an iron core so they are horrible to detect for and I normally don't worry about them. I never imagined anything more valuable there and have been just skimming quickly over the ground looking for any money dropped during the markets. Now I have found silver with the ring and earring it should be worth my while not discriminating and checking everything to see if any gold is there - but there is a lot of junk targets!
I normally keep 40-45 notched out since this is were the thin foil coated plastic bottle seals come up as and they are in plaque proportions everywhere on the island (more so then pull tabs). It is a risk I will miss some very small ladies rings - but one I am willing to take. All my 3 gold finds so far have shown up in the 60's and these were found before I discriminated the 40-45 mark.
