Found these in a fire pit. My Detector show that they are gold and aluminum. Did someone try to melt gold in an aluminum pan?{alt}

Definately some different finds there.  It's quite possible they were trying to melt gold or something of that sort.  I've heard of people melting rolls of pennies over a firepit to try and "cast" into another form.
