Well, after some recent rains, I decided to go back to the walnut orchard to see if I could find additional targets. It turned out to be a good plan as I found 4 additional coins. I found the folowing:
1) a 6-deniers Louis XIV (not as good as the last one I found)
2) a 5-centime Napolean III (I couldn't read the date but I have 3 others that are dated
1853-1855)
3) a 10-centime Napolean I dated 1810 (this is a first for me)
4) a damaged coin that I could not date or further identify. It is a rather 'thick' small coin. The
only thing distinguishing is a design somewhat /generally in a heart shape with 3 fleur de lis
inside. The only letters on the perimeter that I could identify (keep in mind the coin is
severly damaged) said "Quo Fera...." If there any coin experts that have any idea about this
one, please advise. I have checked the french coins on the internet site but could not find
this one.
I probably will not be able to do any detecting for a few days as we are scheduled for rain for the next few days. Perhaps I will find additional coins.... or a treasure chest filled with jewels and gold... Coloma Gold
