Go Up Go Down

I have been hunting a site where the house burned down in the late 70s and have found mostly junk and a few 70s clad coins but at the site where the renters of the house burned the unsalvageable furniture I got a strong silver hit on the f2. Digging down about 4 inches I got amelted glob of plastic that I pitched into my junk pouch. At that point the signal disapeared , so a quick pass over the coil showed it to be the source of the signal.
Working it over with a torch so far I have gotten a badly damaged birthstone ring, a couple of earring backs, a bus token from Toledo , OH and an 1889 O Morgan dollar. I still have about a quarter of the plastic to melt away ( the fumes are not much fun).If anything else of note comes out in the next couple of days I will post them.

Try soaking the plastic lump in acetone and see if you can do it without the flame.

I agree with GoldDigger try and disolve the plastic rather than melt it, less chance of damaging whats inside 1888 Australia was only 100 years of settlement by the Europeans. Nice coin
