Go Up Go Down

Hello friends, went out today for a Christmas day hunt. Figured Id give underwater hunting a go in the surf. The CTX brought up a good number of coins, staying stable all the while. It wasn't long before the CTX sounded that familiar warbel. Dug down about 5'', expecting the usual pull tab and out pops this beauty. I originally thought it was silver, took a closer look at home an did the Plati dance:nod:  Shes a 6.1g Wedding band stamped with K18 Pt900. It also has a small blue stone mounted on the inside of the band. I don't see a single speck of gold on it so maybe you all can lend me your expertise an tell me what the k18 is there for. Mix perhaps?

K18 and Pt900 are both the same. It is 90% pure platinum. That gives it a pure melt value of US$201.59 at today's prices. Calculate here:

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Thank you all for the congrats! K18 meaning the same as Pt900 Shocked every time I've seen it or researched it, it was referring to gold. This is very interesting, thanks again for the help. Keep swinging!

Most people call the inner band stones Peek-a-boo diamonds or stones. I suppose it increases value and could quite possibly be a birth stone.
