It was hot and humid or raining. I just called it quits after about a couple of hours of hunting and sitting under a shade to protect my detector from the rain.
 I found 23 Q, 13 D, 6 N , 5 P, and buckle made of pewter I think.

The heat and humidity took its toll on me today . The rain then dampened my detecting time.
We are getting rain this weekend.

I take out the batteries every time I use the camera. My wife won it in a raffle some years back and I haven't the manual to change the date.

Why do you remove the battery?

Have you tried looking online for a manual?

A friend of mine left the batteries in his Ace 250 for a couple of months or more and it ruined the detector since the batteries leaked. He sent it in to be fixed, but it was beyond repair.
I always check the batteries for leakage and since there are times that I don't use the camera for a while, it's better to take them out of it.

Always use Alkaline batteries. They can go a lot longer than the Heavy Duty ones before they start to leak. I still remove them and put them in a cotton drawstring bag tied to the shaft when the detector is not in use.

Far but few even Duracell's can leak.   I too take them out.   Done Deal and if I don't get back to it again in a few months , I got it covered.

I keep my batteries in my finds pouch. It has 5 compartments so I can put my cell phone in front, finds behind the phone, battery pouch on each side, and a back pocket to put the magnifier, band aids, and some emergency toilet paper. LOL.
It is showing signs of wear and tear since the finds pouch lining is feeling sort of thin . I can feel the things in the back pocket of it now.
I always use alkaline batts, but you never know when a bad batch pops up.
