I did also find a Musket ball yesterday in my neighbors cornfield.I live not far from a battle field of the old stone fort in upstate ny.but its tuff to detect in the fields right now due to high grass.

Very nice finds......If I was finding items like those, I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to leave my yard, unless it was to hunt my neighbor's yard

Treasure is in your own back yard as the saying goes.  No need to wander over countless history books and old maps, just turn on your detector and go.  Once your own yard is worked out, go hit the neighbors.  Take time to not make a mess and leave everything looking as it was or better.  Once you have hit all the backyards of all the neighbors then you can relax and read of sites over the next mountain, river or county line but remember the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the road.  And remember the story of the Opossum.  Why did the Possum cross the road?  To prove it could be done tee hee hee.

nice finds im also in upstate ny near the oriskany battlefield im currently got permission to hunt the elementary school and havent come up with any historical finds but have found two silver quarters its not tall grass im battling but the heat havent been out since monday was out all last week and think i got too much sun started to be nauseous and felt like i had a sunburn i hope the rain tonight cools things down to a more confortable temp well bye for now and may all your finds be silver and gold
