Go Up Go Down

Hi all!  Although the weather has not been very good for metal detecting here in Ohio since the cold has us in the slow season I had a new coil that I picked up after the first of the year and wanted to make sure it worked ok.  I had purchased an ultimate 13"DD coil by Detech for the Minelab E-TRAC and wanted to get out on a couple of the nicer days that was still chilly to put the coil through it's paces on a small piece of ground that has been hammered.  I must say that I was a little surprised with what I had for finds after a combined total of a few hours of running the ultimate 13 coil.

For my time I had:
12 Wheat cents from 1914 through to the 1950's
2 Indians a 1901 and a 1902 both in fairly nice shape
1 1920 Mercury dime
1 1902 V Nickel
1 clad dime
a toy tractor
a piece of a ring

I'd say that with 16 of the 17 coins dug being keepers from a hammered spot that it was a pretty good hunt and my year is off to a good start.

Here are a few pics and video.  Thanks for watching and HH!

Thanks for the comment.  The indians and Merc are in pretty good shape.  I probably could have gotten better pictures of them too I guess.  The v Nickel is in ok shape considering it's age and how long it had probably been in the ground.
