Well, I got bored of battling mosquitoes and ants in my back yard so I packed up my gear and headed to one of the local playgrounds. Spent about 90 minutes digging in the sand chasing every beep I could and alternating between disc and all metal.
It was a successful learning day
cause I learned I need a lot more time with my machine to understand it
It's almost like a woman that way
If you have one setting off, it can go haywire
Spent the first 70 minutes or so with the sensitivity way too high and I think it was picking up junk metal from China...in China. Once I turned it down to where I thought I had it
, it worked a lot better and the signals were much less eratic and it was easier to pinpoint the objects (big lesson learned, always double check the settings)
2nd lesson
Canadians coins show up as junk
And the metal tops of pudding snacks show up as great finds
I'm sure it had something to do with sensitivity....
So in the end, I found my first 0.46 cents, a few zipper and buttons parts and a whole lot more desire to finish searching that park with proper settings
