Hi,
Found this today with home made P.I. (boy was it deep!)
It's a horse buckle of some sort I presume.....
It's not Brass though, it appears to be Bronze.
It's not "bent" either ... looks like it was made that way, just wondering how old it might be....

looks like it would be attached to a pretty wide piece of leather.

Hi,
Yep, the leather would be about an inch and a half wide.
I just showed it to a local guy who runs the historical society near here.
He thinks its not from a horse but from an English civil war "roundhead" uniform!  Shocked
I guess I'll be taking it down to the museum for an opinion then......  Fight

Looking at the pictures of some uniforms worn by re-enactors, I can see how that would be possible.  Please let us know what the museum says.

Hi,
Yes, it does look that way. He thinks it's the buckle from the "sash" type over-shoulder sword belt.
