Go Up Go Down

Weather has been beautiful, so had to "hit the dirt". Went to the local school, down the street. Not much in the way of old stuff, but plenty of targets. Even found one quarter totally covered in gum. That was certainly a first for me. Also found pieces of a bracelet, that like to have drove me crazy recovering the pieces. The metal pieces were 3/16" dia. and scattered all around. Every time I recovered one, there would be another signal and it would be another piece. I finally gave up after finding a half dozen or so pieces. Here are pictures of my "loot".

It's amazing what you can find at a school. My bother in law took me to some schools and I found mainly coins (mostly pennies). He also took me to a vancant lot where there used to be a doctor's office. I found a 1914 mecury dime in great condition.

You never know what might have been there in the past. I keep going back to hunt my old High School that was built in 1919. So far the oldest coins I have found there are a 1805 dime and a 1841 half dime. That didn't totally surprise me, since the school was built on the same grounds where a plantation existed in the 1800s. That's why research is so important to finding the really old "goodies".

That's quite a haul, congrats to you. My old school is gone with concrete over it.

Schools are always good for lots of finds and they always seem to replenish themselves. Nice day's hunt!

Unfortunately, that is becoming more common every day. More concrete and less dirt.

Nice Finds!

Glad the weather's been cooperating for you. It's still pretty shaky here in Chicago, but it won't be long now.....
Keep at it!
Mike
