Go Up Go Down

This was from last week. This is also my first post to the finds forum. Hope you enjoy.
I haven't been out with the E-Trac in a while.. I have been hunting with the Deus quite a bit trying to get some good time on it. I have been really missing the depth that the Trac offers, so it went out with me today.. I forgot what it was like to dig a 10inch coin.. I went to a home built in 1917 and started digging old wheats and other relics. I had missed them in my previous outing and had solid signal at around a foot. I dug down thinking this was too big to be any good. Boy I am glad I did...

The Model of 1916 37mm round was developed by the French and was used by the French and the US in WWI to take out machine gun emplacements. It saw limited us in WWII and  was used for training. It came with two different rounds, one an ineffective steel ball round, second was a exploding cast iron round with blackpowder. It came in the fixed tripod and wheeled carriage. Here is a pic off of the

forgottenweapons
website of the gun set up for action, apparently during WWI.

I also found this metal picture. Its not tin, it looks and feels like brass or copper. It has some weight to it and is stout.
I didn't realize it was a picture till I got some water on it.
{alt}
It looks like a soldier with military dress and tie, but not sure.
I did a touch up the photo and reversed  it to a negative.. now the guys face kinda stands out.. I found the image by accident. I had the pic on my laptop and was laying it down and when I looked at the screen at a odd angle the mans face showed. So after playing with it for a few minutes I reversed it to a negative and walla...

Day Two: I went back to the yard that produced the metal photo and the 37 mm Shell. Because of all of the iron and trash, I ran the E-Trac in 2 tone ferrous. Immediately I found several wheats.. A 1913D, 1918, 1918s, and a 1934D. I also recovered a worn 1902 Barber Dime and a 1905 Indian Head..
{alt}
I found all of this on the side of the house. I moved into the back yard and immediately found two rabies tags.. One from 1940/1
{alt}
and a 1949 Durant Dog tag.
{alt}
Next came a part of a shoe horn that reads "Complements of Brookton, Mass. Stacy Adams and Co."
{alt}
Then came this neat looking fob? It has a horse head inside a horseshoe, there is no writing to identify it.
{alt}
The find of the day came a little after dark. I really didn't know what it said or what was on it, till I got home. After I started cleaning it, I realized I had found another WoW  Shocked find for me..
The badge reads, "Confederate Reunion May 26-29, 1913. Chattanooga". On the top it has an eagle. On the top left is the United States Flag, on the right is the Confederate States Flag.
{alt}
What I did find was there were several reunions most were different years.. there is a certain badge that looks different than mine and was a little cruder when made. 1913 was the only year the United Confederate Veterans and the Grand Army of the Republic had their reunions in the same city - Chattanooga.  The badge was made by the Charles Robbins Company, Attleboro, Mass as noted on the back of the drop. There is a top portion that is connected by links that said "souvenir"
here is a picture of a program from that year..
{alt}
The UCV stood for the United Confederate Veterans.
I am not sure of it's value, but a really neat find coming from a yard that, only several days before produced a Model of 1916 37mm shell casing and a metal photo that I think is a soldier in uniform.. Thanks for reading

You did a really good job retrieving the picture.  A lot of folks probably would have either given up or ruined it in the process.
