I was able to sneak out to a nearby sports field around mid day.
I had to, the sun was out, a rare site in the Pacific NW this year.
The day started slowly, zinc, zinc, zinc, zinc, and zinc.
Then a Hot Wheels Van from 1974 that looked like a carbeque.
A strange sound was heard in the headphones, and when I saw
the gold peeking from the hole, I almost fell over, but alas, my
first gold still eludes me. There is a stamp on the side that is
either CC or CG, not sure, have not found anything on the web
yet, any suggestions would be helpful, and appreciated.
Just a little further down the field, a familiar tone (I still remember
my first silver like it was yesterday), and a beautiful 1923 Mercury
dime was found. Now for y'all that live in the Midwest and Eastern
parts of the USA, this may be no big deal, but out here, they are
hard to find, or maybe this rookie isn't looking in the right places.
I'll be out Detecting again soon, looking for silver and gold.
