They know how to do business that's for sure, it's no surprise that there are so many people that have at least one Tesoro machine in their arsenal.

Many use only Tesoro machines, for good reason, every machine the build and bring to the market place is a top notch machine.

I see you have a Golden Sabre Plus, "that is a "Very Good" machine!"

A 15 KHz machine, I hope I'll own one some day.

I'm willing to bet you have made some great finds with that unit!.

Had fun tonight!

I went one of my routes, and brought a very good friend along.
We first stopped and ate some home made food, and there about 80 yards away is the first stop.

I set up my friend Trace with the Silver Sabre tuned to just accept nickels and backed off a tiny bit.
Same for me, I used my 1235X.

Here is what I found......

Saturday Night

{alt}

No quarters or nickels but some coins, a Hot Wheels car, a small stapler, a Chucky Cheese token, a house key, a small crucifix, and what I think is a nice gold earring.

In the last picture look at the top just below the loop, it's a makers mark, it says "DR" in a small diamond shaped box.
In the lower right section you may be able to make out the copyright symbol, the circle with a C in it.

For the little bit there is of it it feels heavy in the hand.

It weighs 1.1 grams.

Stand by for what Trace found, I have to take some pictures.

Here is what Trace found with the Silver Sabre

Saturday Night

{alt}

A fair bit of coins, that loop wound up being a thin bracelet, (costume jewelry), and up there in the left corner, an odd token.

{alt}

Trace did real well, he has only a tiny bit of experience with detecting but he learns things real fast.

Most of the coins he found were at the first place we searched.
Notice the dark dime and corroded pennies, there is no doubt that I missed those coins "with both machines" the last two times I searched that spot.

This goes to show, you can do what you consider a good search, but if you didn't get your coil over the top of some targets, someone else could and claim the find.

Even if they are using an old broken machine from 1983.

I am always in the sand, but I've found coins anywhere from 2" to 8" and large targets at 8"+

It's out for a tune up so it may do even better when I get it back.

You may be lucky (and get more depth) but  dont expect a lot. These are pretty easy to "tune" yourself
as they only have couple of adjustable pots (threshold,GB)I presume you know where they are? If there
out things should be better.
Where they excell best is in there iron close to non ferrous rejection,and thats a far far better feature than being deep.

You are right chopz they do well at ignoring iron and finding good targets, that's due to the 12Khz.
Compared to the 5.5Khz of my 1235X that is a good bit of difference.

I don't know the location of the pots, but I did notice the Silver Sabre is the subject of much discussion on the Geotech site.

I'm betting the location of those pots is mapped out there.

No need to go to Geotech.

On the bottom of the machine will be a plastic bung (or just a hole if lost)
That is the GB location (use a very small srewdriver to adjust)

Now take the battery door off,look in the hole for the door clip--there you will see
the adjuster for the threshold.

Thats what the SS+ has, and I think the standard SS is the same.

Later models --Bandido,Laser B's,SSII etc etc had an extended
adjuster knob which came out through the casing. (I also have a Bandido,Laser B1 +
a few other machines)
