Hi all here is a few piccys of some of my recent finds some look OLD but im not 100% sure what all of them are so any pointers will be greatly appreciated. There is the old copper item looks very old, all were found in roman village  area. not sure what that is, also what could be a spoon handle looks like a arrow type shape not sure of the metal not lead tho. A part from somthing what once would of been very pretty nice engraving i was thinking maby a old big crotal bell?? The spoon heads i think? piece of lead and a loop thats squashed out of shape copper i think? And another piece of lead looks to have been stamped with the letters M & P on it? Any ideas anyone? all in all a few interesting bits anyway and well impressed with my laser b2 because of the amount of nails there and still finding bits underneath them! Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting all!  Smiley  Lee    Detecting

Nice that you're able to get past the nails and find things. That cylinder like object is pretty nifty - I'd like to find something like that. Enjoyed looking at your finds. Sue

First one looks like some fitting for a water line or sorts.  Quick connect for a hose.

Some of the others look like parts of a spoon.

Top and bottem.

Thats what I see.

I personally doubt its a tyre valve or a hose lock item, It looks YEARS old and is broken, the 2 bits afer the hole was once attached to more metal that has sadly broken away so i cant identify it. Thanks for your ideas tho ill have to do a little more research into this i think. HH all.  Lee   Detecting

The first item is a chariot quick change wheel hub. Used by the fore runner of NASCAR, Marcus Andretticus. Made for quick wheel changes and improving pit times in those 100,000 passus races.

So was that for a Bronze Age car?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
