Go Up Go Down

Finally got out to detect today. Nothing much at the beach $3.37 in clad and this. Found it near the end of the day. Dug it up and heard the jiggling inside. I thought it was quarters, but they were 7 Turk lirasi, a euro and I coin I dont know what it is. There was also a Sac. dollar in there, but I counted it with the clad. Don't know where someone would be able to use these here, especially at the beach. I checked the exchange and the lira are worth about .63 dollars.

Looks to me like a diver's key holder used as a coin purse. It's used to keep your keys and car remote from getting wet when you dive. Dive shops sell them in all sizes up to about 5 inches in depth. I use them when I detect in the surf. I have a waterproof plastic dive box as well for my phone. Can't open it in the water but I can see through it and know who is calling.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Actually I think it was made for coins. It's only 1 3/4 inches long. Too small for keys
