Go Up Go Down

I just want to update and say that I have had an awesome year.  I will send pictures when I can but have found two gold rings and four silver rings this year which is pretty good considering I go to college and work a full-time job and part-time job.  I just love this hobby but I do not get enough time to investigate new great areas.....some day.. Smiley

The other day I was hunting and I finally came up with what I can do with my all pulltabs.  This may not be a new idea for everyone but I wanted to get the word out.  You can bring them into any McDonald's and it will help their charity (Ronald McDonald House)!!!  I love this because you have to get the pulltabs to get the gold and now I feel good dropping off my rejected items to someone that appreciates them.

I understand in the big scheme of things that it is not much, but it is better than throwing them away is all that I am saying.  I have no need for them and yes it does make me feel good that my garbage is helping in a small way.

It is funny though. It turned from a prank to them actually taking them. Maybe not at some kind of super value, but at least they do something with them. McDonald's probably figured it was good on marketing and a lot easier then having some kind of show down at one of their places. From "What do you mean you don't take them" then a possible confrontation or extended explanation. To just "Sure, drop them here"

Sorry.

Well, I would say, it's better to donate the proceeds of a "whole" alumimun can collection than just pulltabs. Yet, we find lots of aluminum items that taken to a Reynolds aluminum recycling facility and donating the proceeds can help a little. But again it is at the discretion of each individual.

Another thing you can do with all the aluminum stuff you find. If you are part of a Detecting Club, all the members can bring in their aluminum trash at the end of the month and the proceeds can be used to help fund your club activities or donations to charity too.

Good idea. I don't see a reason for pulltabs not being part of such activities. After all, we find way too many in each hunt.  Wink

I thought it was a national thing....I live in Minnesota and I know most of them take them but not all....Depends if it is owned by Corporate or private owner.
