Well after all the Vinegar settled on this piece, I came to find that it had a nice coat of crimson red paint. I am really not sure what it is but I do know that they used to paint the wheels and other parts on the bottom of the trains crimson red in the early 1800's. This piece has an F 8 R on the front and is 7" tall and 4" wide at the bottom. Also the slot at the bottom is 1/2" wide,
she still has the original bolts an nuts attached. If anyone knows what this is, please drop a line. Also found a cool plaque that day to bad it was broken but still nice.
