Here are some of the many Salt Seals that I have discovered of the years. These are made of lead and meant to seal bag of salt. At times when salt was still as valueable as gold, people wanted to prevent that someone could open a bag and replace some of the salt with sand or other materials.

Very nice..I have seen many dug up in the UK and in France''also a guy I know of has dug several in Germany.
