You know, Ms Liberty looks impressive on any coin, but on the Mercury dime she looks mythical. I love that coin and am always looking forward to find them. I've only found 4, but have been equally amazed each time I find them.

Got it used on ebay but it is in great shape.
Its the e-series with the 950 eclipse coil.Figured for the price I got it at I could get the 300 coil
and basically would have the pro with the exception of the multi tones and back light.
Looking at getting a smaller coil now rather than the big on,The site I was at was littered with pulltabs and shreded
cans.
Any thoughts on a good sniper coil for this MD.
Also if ya have any tips on the settings on this md,I think Im doing ok but any tips and tricks is always welcome
exspecially from those that have already been through the trial and era of this machine.

Well Mate, find a clean patch of ground Put the machine in the Prospect mode and put it in tracking, then turn on the machine
so the gain is at 1.5 - 2 and find an area of clean gronud where you don't pick up junk then pump the coil a few time until you
here very little change in the ground when you pump the coil, then switch the track to lock, then go into Relic mode and put the
trigger switch in the centre possition because it has the slowest sat speed and you can run the gain alot higher in this mode
and as you know meens more depth,
Now having done all that turn your gain up until the threshold starts to waver then back it off just a touch, I set my disc at 2.9
and thats it, Now you can run it hotter by turning up the gain til it wavers and run it like that but you won't hear the tiny things
with it runing like this when you are new to the machine, these are my junk settings, but i use them every where and they are the
deepist settings, The big 12" is what my machines come with and i have used them in very junkie ares, and it will add 2 -3"
to your depth, the 6x10 DD you will loose a little depth compared to the 950 coil ( 1 1/2" ) and for Junk and minneralized sites
the 6x10 is good, But for tiny targets the 5.3 6" concentric coil is a killer and in some ground it beats the 6x10, and although the
5.3 is small it is very deep, the 6x3 DD is best for tiny gold prospecting and for Relic, coins and jewelery it's not the best
because it loose's too much depth to the other coil, Oh yeah and the 950 coil is about the best all round coil Whites make
But for my money I'd say get the 6x10 DD for mineralised ground it's a great coil, or where the GND readings in the prospect mode       if they are below the mid 70s+ then 5.3 will be fine and dont be fooled by the 5.3 size,
I hope this helps, so let us know how you get on and if you do use it for frospecting then drop the disc down too 1.5 - 2
and you'll be smokin, good luck now get diggin.

Yes sir, watching that Merc shine in the dirt always seems to make any trip a happy one.  I always get energetic and hunt harder after pulling coins like that out of a hole.

  Nice  Clapp
