SO.... decided that I would turn the disc on the Cibola down to slightly under iron and dig those targets in the yard. Come to find out.... my yard is kinda interesting!

The stuff I have dug so far is heavily encrustificated with an IRON/SAND cement that has formed over the years. The first pic is of the buckle after a quick rinse. The other bits are ...well...I dunno.

Last night I found this monster chain... I only have a portion of it uncovered... its probably 8' long or so. The links are about 3 inches long.

Love the rock. Any ideas of the irons origins?

negative. I need to find the resident buckle guru here. The rock is the buckle in picture two. Thats how heavily encrusted this stuff is.

Thanks for the pics. Sure helps when one needs help with identification. I'd like to see the rest of that chain? The links Look  larger than a bicycle chain? Way way back in the day some model T's had large chains like what I see there as T owners converted there rear wheel drives to chain driven tracks. Like a bull dozer. Don't have a pic of that handy here but...for real, they did this for traction of course but the memory I have was to cross the frozon lakes to Canada to run moonshine. Hey...sounds like a story for the chain to me?

I got the chain dug last nite...

Heres a pic of it after a few minutes with the garden hose. To give you an idea of size... that is my size 11 combat boot at the bottom of the pic.

Now what do I do with this thing?. LOL.
